Plastic semi-finished products

Our portfolio includes semi-finished products made of technical plastics in both standardized PE-HMW/UHMW qualities and premium PE-UHMW plastics with special optimizations. Polyolefin (PE) plastics have become indispensable in modern mechanical and plant engineering. They are generally characterized by a good price/performance ratio and have, for example

• high resistance to chemicals
• high to excellent wear resistance
• good to excellent sliding properties

All our plastics are certified according to DIN and ISO and EU / FDA approved (for the food industry).

Particular frequently requested specifications of our premium semi-finished plastics:

• permanently antistatic (AST): optimized for the electrical engineering sector
• UV-stabilized / lightfast: particularly suitable for outdoor use
• ATEX-compliant: meets the requirements of the ATEX95 standard for potentially explosive atmospheres
• glide-optimized: dynamic load-bearing capacity and reduced wear: for low-maintenance conveyor systems

Polyolefins (PE)

Polyolefins are semi-crystalline plastics that are easy to process and have good chemical resistance and electrical insulating properties.

The plastic is robust and flexible and therefore applicable for a variety of uses. It is one of the most widely produced plastics worldwide.

One of the most important polyolefins that is also used by us is the polyethylene (PE). We distinguish the following PE types:

• PE-UHMW – ultra high molecular weight polyethylene: At an average molar mass of approx. 4 to 9 million g / mol, this is referred to as ultra high molecular weight PE (UHMW). High wear resistance and very good impact resistance are among the special properties of this polythene.
• PE-HMW – high molecular weight polyethylene: At a molecular weight of 500 thousand g / mol, this is referred to as high molecular weight PE (HMW). Here is a balanced combination of stiffness, toughness and mechanical damping.
• PE-HD – high-density polyethylene: At an average molar mass of up to 300 thousand g / mol, this is called high-density polyethylene (HD). The plastic has a high impact resistance and has a very low coefficient of friction. This is a material that is easy to work with.

Wide range of applications for engineering plastics

Engineering plastics are used in various industries, such as the paper industry or the packaging, beverage and food industries. In addition, it is frequently used in general mechanical and plant engineering, port construction, mining and vehicle construction. In addition, polyethylene can also be found in chemical and medical technology, assembly and automation technology, agricultural technology, environmental and waste disposal technology, and general materials handling technology. Our colored semi-finished plastics are through-dyed and UV-stable, which makes them particularly suitable for outdoor use.

Regenerate

During the processing of the different colored plastics, residual material is produced which is separated by type, i.e. no sweepings are used here. The granules obtained are further processed into regenerated plates. The color of these plates may vary, as the granules are no longer sorted by color. However, the special properties of the reclaimed plates remain unchanged. In terms of functionality, they do not differ in any way from the single-color sheets. It is only the color of the semi-finished plastic products that makes the difference.

Atex-standard(ATEX95)

The Atex standard (or ATEX95) regulates the placing on the market of products for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Its aim is to protect people who work in potentially explosive atmospheres or who could be affected by explosions. In the future, we will offer the specially developed semi-finished plastic product Lux Premium UHMW ATEX for these areas of application.
