Crane beams & support blocks

Crane timbers were yesterday – modern construction sites secure their crane vehicles and construction machinery with crane beams made of high-performance plastic. They are pressed from high-quality PE material, are extremely weather-resistant and (compared to their wooden counterparts) do not absorb water. If you have any questions about LuxTek crane beams, please feel free to contact our sales team.

Plastic crane beams provide stability

Our crane beams are made of high-quality PE plastic. The quality of our products is guaranteed by material tests carried out by TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH at regular intervals.

Our crane beams made of plastic are as durable as they are robust. The load is optimally distributed so that the base is protected from damage. The optimal ratio of stiffness and breaking strength also allows high point loads.

Where are crane beams used?

Crane beams are indispensable for safe working with a crane. The stable position of the crane and the appropriate support are decisive for the safety of man and machine. The correct use of crane beams prevents the crane from sinking or falling over.

LuxTek plastic crane beams can be used on various surfaces: on construction sites and event floors as well as on green areas or asphalt. It is not only the stability of the crane itself that is important. The optimal distribution of the load protects the subsoil from damage. Our crane beams are versatile.

Crane beams can be used to support the following vehicles and machines, among others:

  • Towing vehicles
  • Trailers
  • Working platforms
  • Construction machines
  • Scaffolds
  • Lifting platforms
  • Loading cranes
  • Heavy duty cranes

What are the advantages of plastic crane beams?

Our products are manufactured by the pressing process. DIN and ISO standards ensure high quality. Unlike wood, which is also used in supporting cranes, plastic is weather resistant. This is evident not only in the use of plastic crane beams, but also in their storage. The crane beams do not weather. They are as resistant to heat as they are to frost. Temperatures between -80°C and +80°C cannot harm them.

In addition, wood as a material absorbs liquids such as chemicals, which has a negative effect on stability. Crane beams made of wood therefore have to be replaced much more frequently. Crane beams made of plastic, on the other hand, are particularly wear-resistant and durable. Compared to wooden crane beams, the plastic variant scores with a service life that is 5 times longer.

The compression molding process used produces a highly compacted granulate composite that is extremely resistant to bending. This results in better load distribution, which can even withstand high point loads. The crane beams are equipped with handles or cords, making them easy to carry and place.

How heavy are plastic crane beams?

Plastic crane beams score among other things with their low weight. Unlike wooden beams, they do not soak up water when it rains. The higher weight of wet wooden beams can lead to problems, especially during return transport. Plastic beams, on the other hand, always retain their original weight. Furthermore, we also have a variant in our assortment that is even more weight-reduced.

LuxTek crane beams weigh between 12 and 20 kilograms, depending on the design and size. The comparatively low weight facilitates transport and makes loading easier to calculate. Thus, the plastic crane beams not only relieve your employees, but also reduce set-up times as well as the fuel consumption of your vehicles.

For the stable substructure: plastic support blocks

Support blocks, which are also referred to as undercarriage blocks or parking blocks, ensure the safe standing of forklifts and machines. Support blocks made of plastic are weather-resistant and enormously resilient. Thanks to different dimensions, they compensate for differences in level, for example, when it comes to setting up forklifts or machines safely.

What are the characteristics of LuxTek support blocks?

Our support blocks are characterized, among other things, by their resistance to weathering. They can withstand temperatures from -80°C to +80°C. They can therefore be used both indoors and permanently outdoors. Even at the lowest temperatures, no damage occurs to the support blocks.

Our support blocks have holding loops with a carrying handle, which allows you to handle them comfortably. For transportation and storage, the blocks can be stacked on a pallet or placed in a mesh box.

Place the blocks on a flat surface to create a load-bearing support surface. The support blocks not only provide a secure footing, the larger support surface also protects the substrate.

What are the advantages of plastic blocks?

Due to their material, our support blocks can be cleaned quickly and easily. Dirt deposits always represent a safety risk in the area of support technology. The uncomplicated cleaning of the blocks prevents machines, vehicles or scaffolding from slipping on the blocks. The roughened surface of the support blocks ensures safe standing.

In order to guarantee the quality of our products, we had an independent testing institute carry out an application-related test of the load capacity. The result of this test confirms our work: LuxTek support blocks can withstand a maximum point load of 25 tons. Even the large plastic support blocks weigh less than 7 kilograms!

Where are support blocks used?

Support blocks offer enormous load-bearing capacity. They are therefore used in many areas of life. In workshops, for example, they are used to secure vehicles. Compared with a jack, a support block has a significantly larger bearing surface on which jacked-up cars can be securely held. Due to their enormous stability and robustness, support blocks are also used primarily on construction sites.

Possible areas of application for plastic support blocks:

  • as a load-bearing base for scaffolding
  • as an anti-tipper for trailers
  • as a support for car and forklift repairs
  • as spacers for securing bearings
  • as a base for stabilizing jibs

In addition to these applications, support blocks can also be used in the private sector. They are just as suitable as steps on the carcass as they are in the garden area: the plunge pool of your garden sauna, for example, is ideally protected from weathering by plastic blocks.

In what sizes are the LuxTek plastic support blocks available?

Our support blocks are available in the specified standard sizes. In addition, we offer custom-made support blocks. The length, width and height of the blocks are manufactured according to your specifications.

In addition, we offer you the individualization of your support blocks: On request, we can mill in the name of your company or a simple logo.
